The beginning of the new marathon season

Alright, two weeks after a really shitty marathon at Stockholm, which actually was a real cramp city. No worries mate, that ’s all already forgotten. Now, it’s hello new season. (After being sick, having a fever for a week is a good start.)

First I would like to point out that the main focus is in enjoyment, the fun that running is. I run to enjoy my life. For me running is as easy as watching TV for someone else. BUT I cannot run just for fun, I need a goal and then automatically comes a plan for it.

During summer, I have eight weeks of vacation, I’ll train to cruise a ½ marathon in fall, definitely domestic, Joutseno 26.9.2009 or Pieksämäki 11.10.2009. I actually like  to train as I would head for 10000m on track, which is more motivating than train directly for the half or for the whole marathon. No time targets, but I think that if I were to break 1.17, that would sound nice, and it would be under 3.40/km pace. That means I should be able run 35min 10K, which is doable and if I could run 10K in 34min, that would mean 1.15 half marathon, which could mean 2.35-2.45 marathon, somewhere in 2010. It’s going to be something like that.

:)

That’s how I see it, … and have always seen it, speed first, endurance is easy.
